Roman holiday (1953, USA, Black and white)

How many legends are there in this movie?
Audrey Hepburn, of course Audrey Hepburn.
Gregory Peck, the real gentleman both in the movie and the real life.
William Wyler, the director, 6 years later, made another millstone movie: Ben-Hur: the tale of the Christ---which inspired lots of movies gurus, for instance George Lucas.
Dalton Trumbo, the writer, a member of American Communist Party, the most talented writer in Hollywood, with more than 30 years struggling, he eventually made his novel Johnny Got His Gun into a movie which I think it is the best anti-war movie.
Edith Head, the costume design, 8 Oscars winner, never had professional training in fashion design.
……….
Above all of those, I can’t forget the lovely Italian and the splendid Rome.

Because of this movie, I believe black and white can compose the most complicate pictures above all of colors.
Because of this movie, I believe Roman is the most beautiful city full of stories.
Because of this movie, I believe even without furry wings and shine aurora, the angel is still a angel; without stunning outfit and diamond tiara, the real princess is still a princess; without perfect ending, the true love is still a love and it will be forever.

Every frame of this movie can be a very classic poster.

Beautiful princess is working on her permanent job in her childlike elegant way.

Escaped from the Palace on the way to her day-for-fun trip.

In her sleeping walking, walked into handsome US report Joe whom she fell in love with in 10 hours.

She is naive, innocent and trusty, he is sly, charming and tried to dig royal gold mine. Both of them were playing game to each other. Look at Joe's funny and cunning face, in the contrast of Anja's serious obviously pretending expression.

Princess wanted to be a normal girl. Did she know how many girls who bought Tiffany want to be a princess. Hair-cut scene, very classic.

Spanish stairs, childlike pretty girl with new hair cut, eating gelato. what a beautiful moment.

Foxy Joe pretended to run into Princess, started his crafty scheme.

historic background, lovely couple with never out of fashion costumes. another classic moment.

Fun trip started. The scooter became famous too.

Fun ride.

Beautiful Rome always has beautiful stories going on

The mouth of the truth. what is true and what is lying?

A hug, the classic sign of love.

Lovely Italian common people made everyone laugh.

The drama was going to happen. The last time you can laugh during the movie.

He let her know his truth, and also let her know his heart. 2 hours movie, we laugh and smile for 1 hour and 50 minutes. The last 10 minutes make our eyes wet, heart warm, and made the earlier 1 hour 50 minutes more precious.

A real gentle man with a big heart.
Photos shot outside the movie. They are beautiful.
